Survive the immediate situation
Leave attack range first, then inspect your character panel when there is space. A single warning icon is not enough to judge whether you can keep fighting.
Separate health, blood and stamina
Community documentation distinguishes health from blood and notes that running while bleeding can worsen blood loss. Read the current status and in-game descriptions instead of judging only by screen colour.
Fractures can restrict movement or actions. Do not assume your usual running, jumping or fighting pattern still works; read the status before choosing the next route.
Choose an action for the threat
Rest only helps when an opponent cannot easily reach you. Reposition before spending time in menus or waiting for recovery.
- Still pursued: keep an exit and avoid trapping yourself at water or rocks.
- Opponent lost: choose a place with a visible approach and monitor your status.
- Movement changed: test a short distance before crossing difficult terrain.
When should you return?
Do not return merely because a familiar amount of time has passed. Check warnings, movement, reserves and your exit. When uncertain, focus on food, water or regrouping rather than reclaiming a carcass.
Common mistakes
Standing beside a healthier teammate does not make a location safe. Tell the group whether you can still run so it can choose a suitable pace and route. This guide gives no fixed recovery timer because species, conditions and versions differ.
Sources and scope
Tactical decisions and checklists are EFG editorial suggestions. The references below provide mechanic guidance or update announcements; community sources may lag behind the game. Check the branch, version and server rules when information differs.
