Budget for the way out
Before sprinting or using an ability, consider the next action: evading, turning or leaving attack range. Do not spend your last reserve merely to shorten an unnecessary journey.
Travel in stages
Separate ordinary travel from sections requiring a burst of speed. Find a stopping place before exposed ground or difficult slopes rather than searching only after stamina runs out.
- Inspect the route before beginning a long sprint.
- Match the slowest member when staying together matters.
- Test action costs in a quiet place before relying on them in combat.
Do not turn a hunt into an endless chase
Set a chase limit based on terrain or reserves. If prey draws you away from teammates and water, the value of continuing falls. Stopping early is easier than returning exhausted.
Rest where you can still respond
Choose visibility and an exit. Tell your group before resting and avoid having everyone drop their guard together. Watch the actual bar; do not assume one recovery time applies to every species and condition.
A drill for your next life
Choose a short route with stopping places at both ends. Try different travel rhythms, observe what remains on arrival and choose one that leaves an exit option. This builds judgement rather than producing official statistics.
