Gateway navigation and route planning

Check coordinates, choose stopping points and preserve an escape route as terrain changes.

Start by locating yourself

Mark your current position, a nearby destination and a fallback. Travel in short stages and inspect the terrain; a line on a map does not describe cliffs or danger.

Cross-check coordinates and landmarks

Copy your in-game coordinates into the matching EFG map fields. If the marker looks wrong, check signs, decimals and field order before moving. Cross-check the riverbank, road or hillside you can actually see.

Plan around your reserves

A useful route offers water, feeding and rest opportunities, but you need not visit all of them at once. Choose the next stage around your most urgent need.

  • Fed but thirsty: prioritise a bank with a clear exit.
  • Far from the destination with low stamina: pause before exposed ground.
  • Unfamiliar terrain: stop and recheck coordinates instead of guessing.

When the planned route fails

If a slope or busy area blocks you, return to the last recognised landmark and choose another route. Do not jump down merely because the destination is below you. Update teammates when your meeting point changes.

What the map can tell you

EFG does not automatically track your character or guarantee AI, player or active-zone locations. Use in-game scent and observation to verify local conditions.

Tactical decisions and checklists are EFG editorial suggestions. The references below provide mechanic guidance or update announcements; community sources may lag behind the game. Check the branch, version and server rules when information differs.
