Troodon

Troodon converts disciplined communication into damage. The pack must wait for each venom-stage cue instead of piling onto the target at once.

ROLE & DECISION LOOP

Overview and gameplay loop

Venom pack hunter

Keep the pack in sync to make venom count.

Troodon needs a pack that can wait and follow shared signals. Choose one target, work through the venom stages and retreat to cover between approaches. Do not let one impatient early attack break the timing of the whole pack.

Brush and darknessFocus one targetWait for the venom cue
Science & another perspectiveTroodon is a disputed name: the original material was mostly teeth, and many assigned fossils have since been reclassified.
PRACTICAL GAMEPLAY LOOP

MUTATION PRIORITY

Recommended mutations

This list is the species-wide foundation. After choosing a build below, follow its dedicated loadout order instead of keeping the general priority.

#1
Multichambered Lungs

Improves stamina uptime for repeated movement and ability rotations.

#2
Augmented Tapetum

Extends night-vision effectiveness.

#3
Congenital Hypoalgesia

Reduces damage pressure when fighting heavier opponents.

#4
Accelerated Prey Drive

Improves finishing pressure against low-health prey.

MUTATION FOCUSVenom · stamina · recovery
STOP RULE

Each venom stage needs one correctly timed pounce; wait for the cue instead of sending the entire pack at once.

MUTATION LOADOUT

Choose in order from 01 → 04

Prioritize the first mutation in the list. If it is unavailable or slot-limited, use the next option and check again at the next milestone.

01
Multichambered Lungs

Lowers the stamina-regeneration threshold and requires an activity unlock.

02
Augmented Tapetum

Improves night vision and must be unlocked before selection.

03
Cellular Regeneration

Speeds up health regeneration and reduces downtime.

04
Congenital Hypoalgesia

Reduces damage taken when fighting a heavier species.

01
Life preparation

Eat AI and complete Sanctuary and Perfect Diet early.

02
Execute

Call the target → apply stage one → the whole pack withdraws → wait for the cue → apply the next stage → burst after venom completes.

03
Reset / disengage

Each venom stage needs one correctly timed pounce; wait for the cue instead of sending the entire pack at once.

PREFERRED TERRAIN

↗Dense bushes are your main cover

↗Darkness conceals the pack

ADVANTAGE TO SECURE

+The pack has enough members and everyone understands all three venom stages.

+Fast and difficult to spot

RISKS TO AVOID

−One hit can kill

−Requires precise communication

NOTE: A build guides decisions; it does not replace reading hitboxes, stamina, team numbers and server-specific settings.

Mutation names, unlock conditions and effects may change with hotfixes. EFG prioritizes developer data; unclear items are treated as community recommendations and should be verified against the in-game description.

GROWTH & DIET MATRIX

Growth time, mass and diet

Before Adult: one nutrient gives 100% growth speed, two give 200%, and all three give 300%. Diet does not speed up Elder ageing at 75–100%. The table assumes a 1× server.

αCARBS

Chicken, Rabbit, Compy, Hypsi, Omni

βPROTEINS

Boar, Pachy, Teno, Herrera

γLIPIDS

Goat, Psittacosaurus, Dryo, Ptera

Perfect Diet

Maintain α, β and γ together for 300% Growth. Each bar only needs a remaining value; when one reaches zero, speed immediately drops to the corresponding tier.

IDENTIFYING AI PREY IN THE DIET

AI spawns by region and player/server density; spawn descriptions refer to habitat types, not guaranteed coordinates.

Boar

Low, thick and dark brown; it charges straight when startled and disappears easily in bushes.

Land AI found in forest, forest edge and grassland; density depends on player and server activity.
Goat

Small, pale and compact with short horns; easy to mistake for a light object at range.

Open terrain, hillsides and grassland; its call is often easier to detect before the animal is visible.
Chicken

A tiny round ground bird that runs in a zigzag and vanishes in grass.

Near trails, forest edges and active player areas; suitable prey for juveniles.
Rabbit

Extremely small with long ears and short bursts of speed; difficult to see in tall grass.

Grassland and forest edges; it is often noticed only after it starts running.
Psittacosaurus

A small bipedal dinosaur with a beaked head; low to the ground and fast.

Land AI near bushes, forest edges and active players; use its call to find direction.
Compsognathus

A tiny slender theropod with a long tail, often gathering around carcasses.

Near carcasses and carnivore activity; low food value but useful after spawning.

Conty’s troodontid reconstruction was originally labelled Troodon, but the source notes that it may better resemble Stenonychosaurus. It does not establish the complete appearance of Troodon.

A name that began with a tooth

Photograph of the Troodon formosus holotype tooth, ANSP 9259, in Loris S. Russell's work. Limited original material is a reason for caution when attaching a complete body form to the name Troodon.

Fun fact

Troodontids had relatively large brains for their body size, and many possessed numerous small teeth.

Read science and gameplay separately.

The three-stage venom system is entirely fictional and creates a coordinated pack rhythm.
